  • Miami is the Most-Searched U.S. City for International Home Buyers

    Miami is the top U.S. destination for foreign home buyers on both Trulia.com andRealtor.com. Miami’s cultures, all-year sunny weather, improving jobs sector, friendly tax environment and proximity to Latin America are attracting major international consumer interest.

    Three South Florida cities — Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach — ranked among the top -7 U.S. cities for most foreign home searches on Trulia.com, according to data released to the MIAMI Association of REALTORS® last month.

    International home buyers are searching for South Florida in large part because of the region’s unique multilingual, multicultural population. Miami is the most international city in the U.S. About 51.3 percent of Miami residents are foreign born, according to the U.S. Census. Miami’s concentration of foreign-born residents is more than double the national average of 19.4 percent.

    On Realtor.com, the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach market ranked as the top market in the world for international consumers searching for U.S. real estate in February 2016.
