MLS Anti-SPAM Advisory

by | Apr 21, 2014

On April 5th, Yahoo implemented a security change requiring all non-Yahoo mail servers to verify emails received with a Yahoo FROM addresses truly originated from Yahoo.  This change impacts all companies world-wide which send messages from their mail servers where the FROM address is a Yahoo address.  In all cases, these emails are now being rejected and ending up in the Yahoo SPAM folder.

Please refer to the following article explaining the change:

Area Affected:
At this time this change is only affecting users that have a Primary Email address with "" that appears in the FROM field.  This affects both manual and automatic emails sent from MLXchange, Tempo5, and Fusion.

Recommended Temporary Workaround:
Affected users that have their Primary Email address set to "<someone>" can change their Primary Email address to another email address besides a address.  The Primary Email address can be changed through the Contact Information screens.  We highly recommend members make this change to immediately resolve the issue until we can deploy a software patch to affected accounts.

CoreLogic is actively working on three different approaches to resolve this issue;

  1. A number of modifications to the email server configurations have been tested over the past week, but so far none have fully resolved the problem.  We're continuing to research alternative options.
  2. We've now completed code changes to Fusion/MLXchange/Tempo Patch that will support Yahoo's policy change, as well as support any other email service provider who decides to tighten their Spam email policies.  When the patch is released to production accounts, ALLemails sent from Fusion, MLXchange, or TEMPO 5 systems will have the "FROM" email address will appear as; [Member's Full Name] <>.  Emails will still have the "REPLY TO" email address set to the members' Primary Email address. Deployment to production sites will tentatively begin the week of April 28th and require 8 to 10 weeks to complete all accounts.  Your System Engineer will advise when this patch is available for deployment to specific sites.
  3.  CoreLogic has submitted a request to Yahoo to have CoreLogic email servers whitelisted so they can bypass this policy.  It is important to understand, however, that services such as Yahoo, Gmail, and Hotmail will continue to adjust their email policies to reduce the number of spoofed emails.

Please note that emails reported as undelivered can typically be found in Yahoo's Spam folder and can be forwarded to the intended recipient from there.
