Jupiter Realtor Helps Colleagues Get Tech Savvy

After 17 years in the computer technology and business management field, Susan Gaieski wanted to launch a new career.

Gaieski obtained her Florida real estate license in October 2006, but soon learned technology was a fast-growing requisite there as well. Today, more than 90 percent of consumers start their home search online.

“Here I was trying to get away from technology when there was a clear and definite link between the two careers,” Gaieski said.

A Realtor who specializes in gated golf communities, Gaieski spends most of her time these days helping Realtors get tech savvy. She’s continuing that movement and drive as the 2016 Jupiter Tequesta Hobe Sound Council president of the MIAMI Association of REALTORS®. The JTHS Council guides and oversees the real estate markets in Palm Beach and Martin counties. JTHS has approximately 2,000 members in Palm Beach and Martin counties.

“I want to pay it forward,” Gaieski said. “I want to help real estate professionals to embrace technology and not be afraid of it. I want to assist them to use it every day in their branding.”

Maria Wells, who was Gaieski’s former employer at Lifestyle Realty Group in Stuart, said Gaieski has a unique drive to help others.

“Susan was always looking for new ways to help other Realtors market themselves,” said Wells, the broker/owner of Lifestyle Realty Group. “Technology was her thing. If you had a question and she didn’t know the answer, she would research it and get back to you.”

Helping Realtors Get Tech Savvy

In addition to her role as Realtor at Water Pointe Realty Group in Tequesta, Gaieski instructed Water Pointe’s Realtors in their use of social media for their branding and internet marketing. She focuses on helping brokers and Realtors use the Internet to improve their brands and brokerages.

Gaieski stresses three points to Realtors: complete real estate agent Internet profiles, create real estate videos and blog about local communities.

“If customers are using Realtor.com and other sites, you want to make sure your profile is consistent across all platforms,” Gaieski said.

A quick video, whether done at an open house or as a walk-through video, can help Realtors get ranked higher in Google searches. Content blogging provides value to their communities while also branding Realtors as expert real estate professionals.

Paying It Forward in her Community

Gaieski, who found a niche in buying and selling property in golf course gated communities, continues to assist Realtors with online branding. She has also helped local businesses in Martin County.

Gaieski, the business owner of Martin County Social Media Group, provided hyper-local community and business content. Gaieski enjoyed working with local stores, helping them grow their businesses.

In 2012, Gaieski’s community involvement helped her earn the “Making Change Award” from CashMob.com, the leading promotions and marketing website. Gaieski hosted a Progressive Cash Mob Event — which included consumers watching a fashion show while dining at a local gourmet restaurant, walking to the local store to purchase their fashions, shopping at other local storefronts and then eating dessert at a local ice cream parlor — in Martin County.

All proceeds went to the Treasure Coast Food Bank.

“Being active in the community is a big part of being a Realtor,” Gaieski said.

Wells said Gaieski stressed that during her time at Lifestyle Realty Group in Stuart.

“Susan joined a national online news source feed, that allowed other Realtors to participate,” Wells said. “It brought local community information to our Realtors’ feeds. She was the first to jump on board with those practices.”

Serving the Association

As JTHS president, Gaieski wants to increase communication with members, engage brokers, increase membership and grow the association’s young professionals network.

“We made a promise this year to visit every JTHS Broker member office,” Gaieski said. “We want to communicate all of the services we have under MIAMI. We need to go to the brokers and ask them what services they value most and match the services to those needs.”

Gaieski is working with Coral Gables broker and MIAMI YPN Chairman Jorge Guerra Jr. and the current JTHS YPN Team. Both of these groups making the connection together can take advantage of and share networking and technology ideas in the Miami, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin markets.

Guerra Jr.’s Real Estate Sales Force (RESF) firm is known for leveraging the Internet, immersive HD video and grassroots marketing.

Gaieski’s background includes serving the JTHS Board of Directors as treasurer, secretary and vice president. She has participated on numerous Florida Realtor committees. Gaieski has served as a Florida Realtors State Director for the past three years and is serving as a National Association of REALTORS® director. She has high goals for her JTHS presidency.

“We want to communicate and market our association the very best we can,” Gaieski said. “The bottom line is it’s all about our members.”
