The Miami Association of REALTORS, the largest local Realtor association in the nation, has elected Martha Pomares, CRS , ABR, CIPS, GRI, SFR, TRC, AHWD, e-Pro, Prudential Florida Realty, its 2012 Chairman of the Board. She and the entire Board of Directors will be installed on February 3rd at the Annual Installation Luncheon. The MIAMI Realtors Board is dedicated to leadership in the industry, the real estate profession, and the communities they serve. MIAMI Realtors leaders impact key policy decisions and important issues affecting the industry, analyze information, and are actively and visibly involved in real estate related issues, events, and programming. The association represents over 25,600 professionals in residential, commercial, and international real estate and is larger than 39 state associations.
With 23 years of experience as a Realtor, Pomares was 2009 Residential President of the former Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches (RAMB). She just finished her term as 2011 President of the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) Florida Chapter and is also a director for the Florida Realtors and the National Association of Realtors (NAR), serves on the Professional Standards and Risk Management committees and has served on the national Equal Opportunity Cultural Diversity Committee. Having obtained numerous prestigious designations and certifications, she has served as District IV Representative, Chairman of Ways & Means, and 2008 Treasurer for the Florida CRS Chapter. She was also the 2006-2008 President of the Kiwanis Club of Westchester and is a current member of the Kiwanis Club of Key Biscayne and of the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR).
Pomares is the only Hispanic education director for the American Real Estate University, presently teaching the REO course in Spanish. She has also presented the Transnational Referral Certification Course locally and in Spain, furthering international exposure for the South Florida market.
Pomares has received various awards and recognitions including: FAR Honor Society, RAMB Honor Society, RAMB Ambassador of the Year, CRS District Representative of the Year, RAMB Outstanding Newcomer of the Year, and WCR’s Presidential Award. Pomares was also part of MIAMI’s merger committee that brokered the largest merger in the history of NAR, creating the largest local Realtor Association in the nation.
