In an historic vote, the Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound Association of Realtors(JTHS) membership overwhelmingly approved the merger with the MIAMI Association of Realtors, the largest local Realtor association in the U.S. JTHS members participated in a well-attended town hall meeting the day before the vote, which provided them the opportunity to address any final questions. JTHS members then voted to approve the merger with an 88 percent mandate at a meeting on Aug. 14.

The JTHS Council of the Miami Association of Realtors will be official by September when all merger documents have been completed, filed and sent to the National Association of Realtors. The JTHS Board of Directors led by President Nancy Lubeck, will become the JTHS Board of Governors and will continue to lead and direct the services, issues and needs of their members. The JTHS headquarters will remain in its present location in Jupiter, Florida, under the guidance of their current association executive Joanne Wertstlein who will become Vice President. JTHS currently has 1,500 members in Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

Teresa King Kinney is the CEO of the MIAMI Association and Danielle Clermont is SVP of Broward, Palm Beach and Martin Counties. The entire staff of MIAMI Professionals will be supporting the efforts of JTHS as well as all its other members in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

“We are so excited about our merger and all the new services and benefits that will be available to JTHS members, said Lubeck. “This merger will also provide major cost savings on local dues, Supra electronic access keys and hundreds each year on exclusive products and services. MIAMI also offers access to unparalleled global business opportunities, visibility and expansive worldwide media coverage.”

MIAMI hosts more than 3,500 member seminars and events each year and offers more than 100 premium marketing tools and services to each of its members, contributing to their success and helping better serve consumers. Increased educational opportunities will be created for the new JTHS Council, which will be custom designed for them based on their members’ needs and interests.

The merger allows the JHTS staff to better focus on the needs and success of their members since MIAMI will assume most administrative functions.

“The JHTS staff is excited about this merger and all the benefits and services it brings to our members,” said Wertstlein. “It will help to create an environment where we can focus more on our members and their needs, all while keeping it local. We keep our small town feel now with a big city backing.”

The combined association includes a Corporate Board, Residential Board, Commercial Board, Broward County Board, JTHS Board, YPN Council, award-winning International Council and an Educational Foundation.

“We look forward to welcoming JTHS to the MIAMI family,” said John Dohm, MIAMI Chairman of the Board. “It is a great honor to work with the leaders and members of JTHS, which combines our rich histories, cultures, leadership and successful members as well as the services and programs of our two great organizations, providing unlimited new opportunities for the future. We remain committed to excellence, innovation and serving our nearly 40,000 members.” The MIAMI leadership unanimously approved the merger.

“Since the JTHS leaders initially contacted us about merging, ‎we have learned so much about their association, members and the synergies in our markets,” said Kinney. “It really is a great fit. We have already made arrangements to start providing our premium services and marketing tools to our JTHS members right away.”

MIAMI has more than 125 agreements with partner organizations throughout the world, which generate substantial referral business and other opportunities. This powerful alliance continues to increase the association’s international leverage and capacity, as it effectively promotes MIAMI’s members and the local real estate market to buyers, investors, tourists, and global corporations and positively impacts the local community and economy.
